OFAC Sanctions List Detection

ChainAnalyzer now includes automatic OFAC sanctions list checking. Every scanned address is automatically checked against the OFAC SDN list for direct or indirect contact with sanctioned entities.

Detection Targets

• Tornado Cash - Mixer sanctioned by OFAC in August 2022
• Lazarus Group - North Korea-linked hacking group
• Other Sanctioned Entities - All addresses on the OFAC SDN list

Real-time Updates

The OFAC SDN list is regularly updated, and new sanctions are automatically reflected. We cache the publicly available list from GitHub every 24 hours.

Risk Levels

Direct contact with OFAC-sanctioned addresses is classified as CRITICAL risk. Indirect contact (2+ hops) is reported as HIGH risk.
