Cross-Chain Bridge Trace — Track Fund Flows Across Chains
ChainAnalyzer now supports cross-chain bridge tracing. Automatically detect fund movements through bridge protocols like Wormhole, NEAR Intents, and deBridge, and trace fund flows across chains.
Why Bridge Tracing Matters
Bad actors use cross-chain bridges to obscure the origin of funds. For example, funds obtained illicitly on Ethereum can be moved to Solana via NEAR Intents to launch new tokens — a pattern confirmed in real-world cases.
Previously, ChainAnalyzer analyzed each chain independently, so cross-chain fund movements were treated as ordinary transfers.
Supported Bridge Protocols
- Wormhole — Bridges between Solana / Ethereum / Polygon / Avalanche
- NEAR Intents — Cross-chain transfers via NEAR Protocol (solver-based)
- deBridge — Multi-chain liquidity bridge
- Allbridge — Solana / EVM bridge
- Portal (Wormhole Token Bridge) — Wormhole-based token bridge
Three Detection Methods
Bridge transactions leave different traces depending on the protocol, so we combine three detection methods:
- Program ID / Contract Address — Detect direct interactions with dedicated bridge programs like Wormhole and deBridge
- Label Matching — Detect bridge labels assigned by blockchain explorers
- Memo Pattern Detection — Detect bridge TXs that appear as regular transfers (like NEAR Intents) by identifying Intent ID patterns in Memo Program instructions
Bridge Trace Page
The new Bridge Trace page lets you view any address's bridge usage history in a timeline:
- List of bridge protocols used
- Total inbound and outbound amounts
- Details of each bridge TX (source/target chain, address, amount, timestamp)
- Automatic counterpart resolution (via Wormhole / deBridge APIs)
Integration with Scan Results
When a wallet scan detects bridge-funded activity, a "Bridge Trace" link appears on the result card. One click takes you to the detailed bridge trace.
