TRON goes live: 11 chains for self-serve scanning, TRC20/USDT included

On 2026-08-09, TRON became a fully supported chain on ChainAnalyzer. Beyond native TRX transfers, we now scan TRC20 tokens — including USDT-TRC20, the highest-volume stablecoin transfer rail on any chain — with the same feature set as every other chain: one-off scans, Watchlist monitoring, Follow Mode graph exploration, and Case Management. That brings self-serve live chains to 11: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Solana, Kaia, and TRON.

Same detection depth as every other chain

OFAC sanctions screening (the TRX-denominated SDN list), dust attack detection, peel chain analysis, Chainalysis KYT risk rating, Alterya ML risk scoring, and social/web mention detection all run on TRON exactly as they do elsewhere. ScamDB matching, Follow Mode graph exploration, and case ingestion work unchanged.

Engineering note: TRON is not EVM

TRON runs on the TVM (TRON Virtual Machine) and does not share the Etherscan-compatible API surface that every Ethereum-family chain we support relies on. Addresses are Base58Check-encoded (34 characters starting with T), not 0x... — and critically, case-significant, unlike EVM addresses. Rather than bolting TRON onto the EVM scanner, we built an independent scanner pipeline backed by the TronGrid API (the same design pattern as our Bitcoin pipeline). Everything it returns is normalized into the existing Etherscan tokentx shape, so the detector logic and Neo4j ingestion code paths work unchanged.
