Kaia goes live: 9 chains for self-serve scanning, and Watchlist learns them all

On 2026-07-11, Kaia (formerly Klaytn, ChainID 8217) became a fully supported chain on ChainAnalyzer. Not just one-off scans — Watchlist periodic monitoring, Follow Mode graph exploration, token contract monitoring, and Neo4j graph analysis all work exactly like on every other chain. That brings self-serve live chains to nine: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Solana, and Kaia.

Watchlist catches up to every chain

Until now the Watchlist chain picker offered Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, Solana and Bitcoin. We've added Arbitrum, Optimism, Base and Kaia, so every chain you can scan is now a chain you can monitor. If you track tokens deployed at the same address across multiple chains (a common pattern for regulated stablecoins), cross-chain side-by-side monitoring is now the default workflow.

Engineering note: the Kaiascan API wall and the RPC fallback

An honest implementation note. Kaiascan's Etherscan-compatible API handles wallet-scoped queries fine, but does not support contract-wide token transfer queries ("give me all transfers of this token"). Left alone, contract monitoring would spin with "0 transfers" — in our internal testing, a token with 27k lifetime transfers reported zero.

Our fix: the contract monitor falls back to fetching Transfer events directly via eth_getLogs on Kaia public RPC — a generalization of the pattern that already powers our Kaia holder derivation. Result: the same token went from 0 transfers to 10,000 transfers analyzed. The meaning of "0 findings" changed from "we didn't look" to "we looked and it's clean" — which, for a monitoring tool, is the difference that matters.

Kaia is available on all paid plans. Existing Watchlist items are untouched; just pick Kaia from the chain selector when adding new ones.
